Juan Eibenschutz, President of Mexico’s Comisión Nacional de Seguridad Nuclear y Salvaguardia, pointed out that, even though Mexico is an oil-exporting country, pollution from the burning of fossil fuels could encourage the use of nuclear power in Mexico if there is an upturn in nuclear power in the United States. “As soon as nuclear power revives in the United States,” he said, “Mexico will follow.” |
